Riva del Garda...domenica 23 agosto 2009... si sono concluse oggi la 2009 Flying Dutchman Eurocup e la Riva Contender Regatta. Due prove oggi per entrambe le classi con vento intorno ai 8 m/s con raffiche a 10 m/s; sette prove complessivamente in questi due agguerritissimi campionati. Si', perche' le emozioni non sono mancate in nessuna delle due competizioni. Nella 2009 Flying Dutchman Eurocup la vittoria e' andata agli stra-medagliati Majthenyi Szabolcs e Andras Domokos (HUN 70) ((7), 2, 3, 1, 1, 3, 1) ma i migliori hanno venduto cara la pelle! Grandi a 20 punti e meritatamente con gli stessi punti di Hans Peter Schwarz e Roland Kirst (GER 87) gli azzurri Roberto Cipriani e Stefano Morelli (ITA 10) che con i tre primi di venerdi' centrano l'argento! Da segnalare anche l'ottima prestazione di Nicola e Francesco Vespasiani (ITA 4) quarti e autori oggi di un primo di giornata! Dominio assoluto di Giovanni Bonzio (V.C. Campione del Garda) nella Riva Contender Regatta. Seconda posizione per il nostro Roberto Lorenzi (F.V. Riva) e un terzo posto nella classifica generale per Emilio Betta (C.V. Arco). Riva del Garda... Sunday, August 23, 2009...the 2009 Flying Dutchman Eurocup has just wrapped, as well as the Riva Contender Regatta. These two separate events have each sailed 7 races in the past 3 days. And what a battlezone it's been: no boring regattas here in Riva! Today, two races were sailed for each event, with winds blowing around 8 meters-per-second, and gusts up to 10 m/s. Majthenyi Szabolcs and Andras Domokos (HUN 7), well-known names in sailing, are 2009's Flying Dutchman Eurocup champions (scores (7), 2, 3, 1, 1, 3, 1). And the Flying Dutchman sailboat itself inspired some real guerilla-type competition among the 3 top-ranking crews of this year's event. Deadlock tie, with 20 scorepoints each, between Germany's Hans Peter Schwarz and Roland Kirst (GER 87), and Italians Roberto Cipriani and Stefano Morelli (ITA 10). Due to their 3 first-place finishes on Friday, the Italians were awarded the silver medal. Great results also for Nicola and Francesco Vespasiani (ITA 4): fourth position overall in the final scores and rankings, with a first-place finish in one of today's races! No-contest in the Riva Contender Regatta: Giovanni Bonzio (V.C. Campione del Garda) is the absolute victor. Second position for Fraglia Vela Riva's Roberto Lorenzi; third position in the final overall scores and rankings for Emilio Betta (C.V. Arco). Dario Cornali (V.C.
